Kakivik expands Rope Access Services across the globe

Anchorage, Alaska – Kakivik Asset Management is proud to announce the expansion of its Rope Access Program to include 11 Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA) Level 3 supervisors. Adam Wood and Craig McCallum, both of whom are new to the organization, will lead the program.
Rope Access is a method used to provide a safe, cost effective, and efficient means of accessing difficult, elevated locations for tasks related to maintenance and inspection, such as x-ray inspection of pipelines. Workers are suspended by a series of ropes that most people would associate with mountain climbing or other extreme sports. To ensure the safety of Level 1 and Level 2 technicians, Level 3 supervisors oversee their work activities and have the necessary skills to perform rescue techniques should the need arise.
Kakivik has performed rope access work in remote and challenging locations such as the North Slope and Australia since 2016. But until now, Level 3 supervisors had to be sourced from other companies, many of whom are competitors or subcontractors. Now with the addition of these 11 individuals, Kakivik is better able to meet the needs of clients worldwide, while giving long-time Kakivik employees the incentive to pursue their own Level 3 certifications.
In addition to the expansion, the company is also working on obtaining a certification from IRATA to become a member organization, a process that will take up to a year to complete and will give Kakivik access to a broader client base overseas that exclusively uses IRATA member companies for rope access services.
